Christian started working for the BIS Innovation Hub Singapore Centre in July 2021 as an Advisor on secondment from the Deutsche Bundesbank. His work focuses mainly on the Innovation Hubs Project Ellipse and Project Viridis to explore how supervision could become insights based and data driven using an integrated regulatory data and analytics platform. He is the main lead for the BIS Open Tech EDKP initiative, which aims to bring central banks and regulatory authorities together to collaborate and share their developments in the area of SupTech. He serves also as an outreach to an extensive professional network across Southeast Asia. In his previous position he served as the Representative of the Deutsche Bundesbank for Southeast Asia as well as the Financial Counsellor at the German Embassy in Singapore since 2018. Previously, Christian joined the supervisory section for Domestic Systemically Important Banks in Hesse as the Deputy Head at the Deutsche Bundesbank in 2014, where his main task included the supervision of the Financial Market Infrastructures. In prior, he had worked at the German FSA in 2011 and was among other tasks responsible for the re-licensing of CCPs according to EMIR. He holds a Master of Science in Quantitative Economics from the University of Kiel and is a Certified Risk Manager of the DVFA.
