Sam is the Global Treating Customers Fairly Coordinator within Responsible Banking, as well as the Chief of Staff to the Chief Compliance Officer for Legacy Franchises. He serves as a senior business compliance risk manager, responsible for establishing internal strategies, policies, procedures, processes, and programs to design and deliver a compliance risk management framework within enterprise risk appetite across global legacy businesses. Sam has oversight across the APAC/EMEA consumer businesses for consumer fairness and financial access programs, working closely with both first and second line to review products and services across the consumer product lifecycle, including marketing campaigns, product terms and conditions, servicing, and collections. He also serves as the regional compliance representative on the Sales Practices Risk Decisioning Forum. Prior to joining Citi in 2020, Sam worked as a consultant to institutions covering governance, risk, and compliance issues, across APAC, the Middle East, and Africa, and was previously General Manager for Asia of a regulatory technology company specializing in adaptive learning solutions for financial institutions. He has a BA from King’s College, University of London, is a Fellow of the International Compliance Association, and is an Accredited GRC, Compliance, and AML Trainer.
